The marraja Mariana Larios Andreu will be the Nazarene Mayor of the Holy Week in Cartagena 2018. His unanimous election by the Board of Brotherhoods has been communicated by telephone this evening by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
Moments before, the mayor received at the Palace Hall the four older brothers who informed him of the appointment and highlighted the suitability of Mariana Larios to represent the woman brother in the Cartagena processions, as stressed by its president Manuel Martínez Guillén.
On the other hand, the Marrajo's older brother, Francisco Pagan, stated the merits that led him to pay attention to it, among which is his commitment to Holy Week, since he is curator of the fraternity, president of the Ladies' Board of the Virgin of Solitude, sister of the Sepulcher, collaborator of the Marraja Foundation and of the Basilica of Charity, and a person given to the neighbor, restless and wandering, overturned with the Commission of Charity of the brotherhood, in which stands out her activity and participation, which serve as an example of what a Nazarene woman is and for all brother brothers, Pagán has concluded.
The mayor finally highlighted the joy and humility with which she reacted to the news.
Castejón has said she feels identified with the work and concern of Mariana Larios, of which she is sure that she will know how to live up to what this appointment represents.
The mayor has finished assuring that this will be a Holy Week at the height of what the brothers and the Cartagena expect.
The Nazarene Mayor will be together with the Town Crier, elected last December, Ángel Julio Huertas, the two outstanding figures of the Procession Proclamation that this year will be held again in due time, at the beginning of Lent.
It will be on Saturday, February 17, at 8:00 p.m., and for the first time in its history in the Isidoro Máiquez Hall of the Municipal Auditorium of El Batel.
