More than 150 lacemakers joined the X Encuentro de Bolillo that was held this weekend, during the patron saint festivities of San Antón and attended by bouncers from all the Region of Murcia.
The councilman of Culture, David Martinez, did not want to miss, on the morning of Saturday, January 20, the traditional meeting of bobbin, which was organized by the Association of Lacemakers of Bolillo de San Antón.
The mayor, who was the Lacemaker of the Year 2016, was interested in this ancestral and artisan work of textile lace, made by these women of the municipality of Cartagena.
"I am very proud of the work that the lacemakers of San Antón are doing, which have made this meeting even bigger year after year, so much so that on this occasion we have been able to enjoy the talent of more than 150 women from all over the municipality"
The event was held in the Casino of this popular neighborhood and in which the Coordinator of the Department of Equality, María José Mercader, was named Lacemaker of Honor.
All the attendees could enjoy the activities organized by this group of women who for years have retained the tradition of celebrating this meeting after the neighborhood parties
