Cartagena triathlete Pedro José Andújar Bastida, last winner of the prestigious Copenhagen Ironman, and agrifood products company JimboFresh International have presented their joint project on Friday, January 19 through the sponsorship of the athlete for 4 years.
Through this agreement, Pedro Andújar intends to finally give way to professionalism.
At the event, which was chaired by the Councilor of the Area of ​​Quality of Life, Welfare and Sports, Obdulia Gómez, thanked the support of JimboFresh Cartagena sports.
In addition, he congratulated Pedro Andújar while he expressed his hope that "the example of his desire to excel" will be useful for many other athletes.
Juan Jiménez, representative of the company JimboFresh, wanted to show his admiration to the athlete and insisted on the firm interest of the company in continuing to support the sports talent of Cartagena.
"We have sports in our daily work and that's where we get the most joy," said Jiménez;
who also welcomed Pedro Andújar to the sports family of JimboFresh.
On the other hand, Andújar also showed his gratitude to the sponsoring company.
"Being a triathlete of a certain level requires a lot of effort and without all this support it would not be possible."
The athlete said that he is at an "optimal time to perform" and will do everything possible to do his best during these four years of commitment.
Finally, Obdulia Gómez wanted to make an appeal to companies so that, like JimboFresh, they could help promote Cartagena's sport.
THE SPORTSMAN
Pedro Andújar, 30, has a degree in Sports Science from the University of Murcia and an official Master's Degree in Sports Performance and Health from the Miguel Hernández University in Elche.
He has competed since a very young age and has been the Spanish track champion 3 times in cadet category and in youth.
At this moment, Pedro Andújar captains the Triathlon Triathlon Club of Pozo Estrecho, a reference club in the region and currently has more than 40 athletes who wear their colors throughout the national circuit of Triathlon.
