IU-Greens in Cartagena maintains that such extension supposes a substantial alteration of the stipulated in the initial specifications and therefore it would be a new contract that should have been resolved in a new public procedure according to the guarantees of publicity, transparency and free competition stipulated by the public sector contracts law.
The formation of Cartagena and the left supports the creation of a Commission of Investigation in the City council of Cartagena that investigates the contract of the municipal service of potable water.
IU-Verdes has expressed its satisfaction with the decision of the municipal council of the City of Cartagena to create a commission of investigation that analyzes the details of the contractual development with the Hidrogea concessionaire in relation to the potable water service in the locality.
IU-Verdes manifests its total opposition to the manipulation and twisting of the norm that supposes the extension of contracts with extensions of the same totally irrational, in addition to illegal according to multiple reports and judicial sentences, among them those of the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia who reported negatively the last extension of the Cartagena contract.
From IU-Greens of Cartagena, we declare our intention to work and collaborate with political groups and citizen groups in favor of the declaration of nullity of full of law of the extension of the contract that places it in the time horizon of 2042, measure that is already promoting in other cases such as the town hall of Mula, at the proposal of IU-Greens.
However, IU-Verdes manifests its proposal to recover the municipal management of the public drinking water service, this being a more transparent management, in line with the general interest as well as more economic and effective.
