Between masses and flours opened last Tuesday Venancio Fernández and Silvia Ponce their new business, bakery 'La Mancheguica'.
A certain smell of fresh bread floods the whole street in which this new establishment located in the urban center is located.
These entrepreneurs have had the support of the Agency for Local Development and Employment (ADLE) of the City of Cartagena to see their dream of opening their own bakery fulfilled.
The ADLE within its program of support for entrepreneurs gave these two young people the necessary tools to embark on a new project.
"We were a little lost with respect to how to start," confesses Venancio Fernández.
"There they guided us step by step on how to do things until we get to where we are, in the opening phase", explains this young baker of 36 years.
"When I was unemployed I thought it was time to start, because now I am young, and we thought about creating an artisan bakery," says this baker.
This small oven, located on Tierno Galván Street, tries to return to the more traditional recipes of the old village bakeries.
A need, says its owner, which is increasingly in demand.
"People are returning again to the issue of healthy products, and healthy, that does not have any type of additives, and that is what we manufacture," says Venancio Fernandez.
In addition to artisan breads, 'La Mancheguica' produces dumplings, puff pastries and all kinds of sweets to satisfy the most demanding palates;
all made with the greatest of pampering and the quality that each product needs.
"We do not have anything frozen, everything is made manually and we use the least amount of machines so that the bread process is as artisan as possible", explains Venancio Fernández while kneading what in a few hours will be some delicious dumplings.
The expectations of these two young bakers are, of course, to establish their business among the residents of the city and get people to enjoy the traditional taste of bread and enjoy their products.
"Our idea is that people can come and enjoy bread.
I think people have long since left the taste of frozen bread and do not remember the taste of the original bread, "concludes this young baker.
A traditional flavor that, undoubtedly, can be appreciated in all the masses of 'La Mancheguica'.
