'Reading, Thinking and Imagining' begins its cycle of talks with the lecture of the professor of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Murcia, Francisco Calvo Garzón, which will take place this Thursday, January 18, at the Josefina Soria Library, in the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, at 8:00 p.m.
The conference, entitled 'Vegetal Cognition: The Next Revolution', will bring to the table issues of biosustainability.
The philosopher Francisco Calvo will explain to the audience that the plants are intelligent insofar as their behavior is not only adaptive, but also flexible and anticipatory.
This fact allows them to develop proactively, making decisions against environmental contingencies, as defends the hypothesis of this talk.
Francisco Calvo will be accompanied by the professor of the Plant Physiology Department of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (ETSIA UPCT), Mª Ángeles Ferrer, who will be in charge of presenting the conference.
This talk also has the collaboration of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Murcia.
The assistance will be free until full capacity is reached.
