The national deputies of Ciudadanos, Miguel Garaulet and José Luis Martínez, have presented in the Congress of Deputies a battery of questions about the lack of maintenance and the breach of the promised investment in the Cartagena train station.
According to the newspaper La Verdad published last Friday, the Ministry of Public Works "continues to accumulate delays in the improvement of the Cartagena train station."
The modernist building accuses the lack of maintenance and its deterioration is more, given the passivity of Adif, the state public entity in charge of railway infrastructure, although in May last year it was assured that it had been tendered, for 120,729 euros, the realization of works for the improvement of the station.
The agency also announced that the deadline for the work would be three months and added that the project included "different actions, both in the station building and in the parking lot and its surroundings".
Meanwhile, complaints from travelers and other users of the station continue due to the abandonment of the complex, where there are broken doors and windows, sunken grilles and cracks in the parking lot as well as weeds and debris.
Neighbors and tourists claim to address this abandonment in a building that, in addition to being close to the historical case and serving as a tourist projection, stands out at a patrimonial level.
The orange deputy in Congress, Miguel Garaulet, says he is concerned "that delays continue to accumulate in the train station of Cartagena, Adif raised an improvement plan in the station and parking, for a value of 120,000 euros, but it seems that the style of the Popular Party's banner policy on infrastructure in the region, in which works are played with a hype and a saucer and then are not performed ".

In addition, the national deputies of Cs want to clarify why in the bidding section of the official website of Adif there is no information regarding the arrangements at the Cartagena station, how many complaints or user complaints Adif has received during the course of 2017 Regarding the state of this station and ask for explanations for the absence of a hospitality service for travelers despite the high daily traffic of people.
On the other hand, Ciudadanos wants to know when the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Cartagena Alta Velocidad company is pending.
For his part, the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, thanked the support of his group at the national level and regretted that Fomento, "contribute to the Cartagena continue to feel mistreated by state investments, and that is what happens when you announce an investment (no matter how small) and you let almost a year pass without executing a single euro and without giving explanations ".
