The Subjective Room of the Consistorial Palace, aimed at empowering the young promises of the municipality, will host this Thursday, January 18, the Mariposarium exhibition of the young Cartagena artist Sonsoles Ponti.
The inauguration, which will take place at 8:00 p.m., will be attended by the councilor of the Culture, Heritage, Education and Youth Area, David Martínez Noguera.
The exhibition, which can be visited until February 25 at the Consistorial Palace, will be open to the public from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In this exhibition, where the protagonists are the butterflies, you can see works made with the Patchwork technique, which consists of the small art of creating uniting remnants of different sizes, colors and textures.
In these creations the artist performs, from a traditional technique that goes back to ancient Egypt, a modern interpretation full of vitality and color.
THE AUTHOR
Sonsoles Ponti is a young 18-year-old from Cartagena, now a medical student, who learned everything she knows in the craft workshops of 'Primores' thanks to her teacher María Ruiz.
Subsequently, he has done numerous courses with different artists such as Melinda Bula or Jinny Beyer.
In spite of her youth, her work has already been awarded in the last four editions of the Sitches Festival.
In addition, he has received an international award at the Patchwork Festival of Birmingham in 2015.
