Today a new session of the Finance and Interior Commission has been held in the administrative building of San Miguel.

The representatives of MC, Isabel García and María José Soler were present at the meeting.

MC Cartagena has announced that it will demand the express resolution of the appeal lodged by thirty neighbors in January 2004, including members and officials of the PSOE of Cartagena, against the extension of the municipal water service contract.

The appeal presented by thirty neighbors, later assimilated by ASEPUCAR, challenges the 2003 plenary agreement to "extend the duration of the concession of the Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Service of the municipality of Cartagena until the first of January of the year 1942 ... ", at the proposal of the Delegate Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Heritage, Mª Ángeles Palacios, from PP.

Today, MC has had record, Garcia explained, "that the Government of the Popular Party gave an express order not to answer this appeal, filing with a simple annotation in pencil, made in the margin of the document."

Isabel Garcia added that "at the morning session of the Finance Committee, the PSOE has tried not to resolve, curiously this Commission is chaired by one of the recurring, Francisco Aznar."

Research Commission

On the other hand, on the constitution of the Commission of Inquiry that has for object the contract of the service of waters, Isabel García has regretted that the groups "have taken in three months in realizing that it is necessary to investigate".

The Commission will be constituted in the extraordinary plenary next Thursday promoted by MC Cartagena and CTSSP.

It will be studied how the extension of the concession was made, the possible extra costs, the reports of the technical assistance and the municipal technicians of Sustainable Development, in charge of the work of inspection of the service before the creation of a technical commission attached to the area of the mayor's office

García added that "the reduction in rates approved last December by the socialist councilors, at the proposal of the mayor, because we believe it does not comply with the law, should be included, returning with the change in mayor to the old practices of the Popular Party "
