CTSSP has again denounced the proliferation of illegal landfills in the municipality, with the aggravating circumstance that many of them are filled with waste from the works carried out by the City Council itself.
Also, the municipal group has denounced that the City Council contracts with companies that have already been sanctioned for environmental crimes, which is an unfortunate indicator of the null intentions of the municipal government to end these crimes.
CTSSP has pointed out that illegal dumps where construction and demolition waste is thrown are a double problem: first they attack our natural spaces (such as mountains and wadis) and also generate unfair competition with the companies in charge of managing the RCD, companies that they pay their taxes and perform their tasks in an exemplary manner, and they are harmed by those managers who bypass the law and obtain benefits thanks to it.
The municipal group of PODEMOS will take a battery of 15 questions to the municipal Plenary to know what the Government has done to combat this serious environmental problem, while urging the application of urgent measures, such as the imposition of exemplary sanctions, the increase in controls, the immediate approval of the specific ordinance of RCD and the creation of an inventory of illegal dumps in the municipality.
