The School Our Lady of the Sea of Santa Lucia received Wednesday the visit of FC Cartagena players, Michel Zábaco, Oscar Ramírez and Diego Benito, an activity that is part of the campaign to prevent school absenteeism 'Every day without fail '
This project is driven by the Department of Education and Sports of the City of Cartagena, through municipal programs of school absenteeism and approach to sport (ADE).
Among these actions is the visit of athletes to schools in Cartagena as reference figures for schoolchildren to promote the values of sport, such as perseverance and effort to achieve success and social recognition.
The players, who met with the students for more than an hour, were greeted with the FC Cartagena anthem and among the applause of the more than 100 primary students who were waiting anxiously for the black and white players.
After the presentation of the athletes, a promotional video of the School Absenteeism Campaign prepared by the Department of Education was screened.
Next, the players answered some of the questions of these students on all kinds of topics, especially sports and educational aspects.
One of the most emotional moments of this meeting was when Juan, a 6th grade student, sat next to the players and described what a day in his life is like from waking up to going to bed.
Zábaco, Ramírez and Benito gave the school a shirt signed by the squad, two scarves from FC Cartagena, as well as tickets for next Sunday's game against El Ejido 2012. All this was possible thanks to the club's foundation and the agreement signed with the City Council to bring the sport to schoolchildren in the municipality.
For this game, in addition, tickets have been distributed in the CEIP Nstra educational centers.
