Cartagena Piensa has presented the activities that will be developed during the first quarter of 2018 in municipal libraries, public universities, cultural centers, associations and local hospitality and where they will gain prominence to the smallest, which will be a total of 27, among which we will find workshops dedicated to childhood and even to babies from 0 to 18 months.
The councilor of the area of ​​Education, Culture and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, said that the following programming for Cartagena Piensa is presented with "a lot of intensity and diversity, both by the number and content" of the activities to be developed .
The program of workshops and conferences, in which the Culture Area has participated with the Municipal Libraries in front, Equality, Social Services and Citizen Participation, is made up of a total of 51 activities.
The mayor has stressed that the lines to be addressed during the first quarter of 2018 have to do "with the great challenges of our time," such as climate change, refugees and migratory movements, feminist thinking and even training in active citizenship and participatory democracy.
"We maintain a strong offer of children's activities in collaboration with municipal libraries, which allows us to reach our neighborhoods and councils," said the councilor, while emphasizing the battery of decentralized workshops for the dissemination of science and of technology, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University;
of astronomy workshops, in collaboration with the Astronomical Association of Cartagena;
or those that are carried out with Hayat's Chocolate Factory, intended for babies and "that already had a lot of success last year," Martinez said.
He also specified that during this quarter the Cartagena will be able to attend a workshop on "Philosophy and Emotions: The History of Emotions" which had a great success of participation in other seasons and has advanced that on the occasion of Women's Day , Cartagena Piensa will have a special program with talks, debates and screenings.

Cayetano Gutiérrez, from Grupo Promotor Cartagena Piensa;
Antonio Sicilia, from the Círculo de Silencio (Cartagena);
and Mª José Piñeiro, of the Organizing Committee of the IV Conference "An education for the 21st century: Views from the Sciences and the Arts", that have collaborated actively in the design and development of this program.
Martinez finally thanked the participation of all groups in this edition of Cartagena Piensa and said that the objective of this program is "build a critical and informed citizenship" in the municipality.
