The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) starts next week a new circuit of informative workshops in the Library Network of Cartagena with innovative themes such as the exploration of the ocean and Wi-Fi geolocation, according to the Vice Chancellor for Research, Beatriz Miguel, during the quarterly presentation of the municipal program Cartagena Piensa.
'Fun mathematics for future engineers', 'The mystery of holograms' and 'Mission: rescue the Mar Menor' are the titles of the first workshops, which will take place respectively on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Los Dolores libraries , Pozo Estrecho and Ramón Alonso Luzzy from 6 pm.
Around 2,000 children and more than 950 adults last year enjoyed the 80 informative actions carried out by the Polytechnic in the municipal libraries, according to data from the City of Cartagena.
The circuit 'Engineering in your library' is the first activity of the annual program of the Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i) of the UPCT, which has the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology - Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
Throughout 2018, the disseminators of the Polytechnic of Cartagena will organize the Engineering Campus, the Biotechnological Routes and the Ingeniosanos workshops in hospitals, they will attend the Week of Science and Technology and they will supervise the projects of students of the Bachillerato de Investigación.
