Hundreds of pilgrims will return, one more year, to process the Virgen de la Luz in procession.
The Romería del Cañar will tour the natural landscape of the Sierra de la Muela on Sunday, January 7, to pay homage to the mother of God in the middle of the ravine.
The day is organized by the FAVCAC, and it collaborates the City of Cartagena, through its Department of Celebrations, ALSA, LHICARSA, HIDROGEA, the Neighborhood Meetings of Isla Plana and Perín with the Associations of Neighbors of Tallante, Perín, Isla Flat and Corner of Sumiedo.
This year the Cultural Association of Cartagena de Levante will also participate and will sponsor the first free crumb contest, with the handing over of a ham to the first prize.
The day will begin at 8:30 am with a Mass at Tallante Church.
At 9:00 a.m. will take place in a hot chocolate with buns to gather strength to face the morning of pilgrimage that will leave from Tallante at 9:20 hours to Rincon de Sumiedo.
At this stop, the crew will sing verses and candy and sweet wine will be distributed to the audience.
At about 10:45 am the pilgrims will leave for Cañar, and will arrive with La Virgen de La Luz at 12:00 noon, to offer a Mass.
In the same spot of Cañar, the cuadrillas will perform again and they will offer their Patron a Salve in the Plaza de la Iglesia de Tallante.
To complete this festive day, it will conclude with a snack at 5:30 p.m.
