Firemen of the Service of Fire and Rescue Extinction of the City of Cartagena (SEIS) rescued this past morning eight people, one of them with serious burns, inside a building occupied by immigrants.
The incident occurred at two o'clock in the morning in a building in the Plaza de San Francisco.
The fire affected the contents of the third and fourth floors;
and also to its wooden structure, complicating the work of extinction.
At the arrival of the firemen, several people asked for help from the balconies of the fourth floor of the aforementioned building.
Quickly the rescue by the facade with the help of an autoscale began, while the fire by the box of stairs is attacked.
Little by little, once the fire has been controlled, the entire building has been evicted by the stairs to avoid poisoning by smoke or possible collapses due to hidden damage to the structure.
A light urban bomb, an autoscale and a crew composed of six firemen, a corporal and two drivers were moved to the site.
About four o'clock in the morning the fire was extinguished.
WALK RESCUE IN CALA ESTRELLA
On the other hand, yesterday the firemen had to rescue a young hiker in Cala Estrella, who had been lost at dusk in the foot of Mount Roldan.
At first the indications obtained by the hiker and the impossibility of getting in direct contact with him, took the firemen to the battery of the Parajola.
After traveling back the entire path analyzing each corner of the road, and after descending to Fatares Beach, was finally found on the descent to Cala Estrella, in perfect condition.
The hiker, a boy from Santa Lucia and 23 years old, was taken down by the firemen in a vehicle to meet his father who was waiting for him at the beginning of the climb to the lookout at midnight.
