The City Council of Cartagena, through the Councils of Sustainable Development and Sports, are executing works that will conclude soon, to have facilities that allow to enhance the practice of two sport modalities very in vogue among young people, 'bikers' and hockey on skates , responding well to the demands of all groups and expand the range of options in the municipality.
Today Thursday, the first deputy mayor and sports councilor, Ricardo Segado, accompanied by the councilor of Government, José López, visited the works to check on the ground the progress of the same.
Thus, the Polygon of Los Camachos is carrying out the conditioning of the circuit of bicycles of various disciplines, which has meant an investment of almost 30,000 euros.
Specifically, it acts on a plot that is located between the streets Nitrogen and Zirconium.
It is a plot currently unused, mainly land, except a garden part.
The main measure consists of adapting the plot, providing pedestrian access from the existing sidewalk, the construction of hearth for the placement of portable booths, as well as the electrical pre-installation in the plot and the perimeter fence.
Once the work is finished, the land will be equipped with a wooded area;
another destined to the recreation, in addition to three locations for the practice of BMX (modality cyclist native of California that requires of a great control on the bicycle);
trialbici, and a circuit of mountain bike or bicicross.
There will also be a rock trail.
A varied and complete infrastructure for the followers of the 'bikers', an urban sport increasingly extended and with a greater number of users.
Asphalting in the Cabezo Beaza Industrial Estate
Likewise, the asphalting and improvement works on the Cabezo Beaza industrial estate located between Luxembourg and Belgrade streets, through its cleaning and asphalting, are in the final stretch.
They represent an investment that reaches 30,000 euros.
It will allow to have an infrastructure destined to satisfy different uses, shuffling among them that becomes a complement to the facilities of the Pavilion of the Polygon, where skate hockey teams develop their activities.
Base sports and facilities in neighborhoods and councils
Taken together these two projects, the Department of Sports plans to undertake in the next year, three important proposals that have had the support of the neighbors during the voting process of the second participatory budgets of the City of Cartagena.
A neighborhood decision that converges with the intention of the Sports area to influence grassroots sport and actions that have their focus in the districts and county councils.
Thus, in Albujón 65,000 euros will be invested to remodel the sports court, in addition to contemplating the installation of lighting.
On the other hand, another game of 75,000 euros will be used to remodel the Pozo Estrecho sports center, while another 75,000 will be used to operate in the 'Carthago Ventura' archery in Los Camachos.
Finally, improvements will be made in the athletics track of Cartagena worth 45,000 euros.
