The RM-314 road that connects Los Belones with Portman, and that gives access to the La Manga Club resort, has been officially inaugurated on Tuesday, December 26, once the works that began last year were completed.

The project has had an investment of 2.4 million euros and has consisted in expanding the platform of the road to about 11 meters, so that the road now has a single road for traffic of two lanes of 3, 5 meters (one for each direction), hard shoulder and a 2-meter bike path.

As explained by the Minister of Development, Pedro Rivera.

"On this road, on average, 4,200 vehicles travel daily and there are more than 1.5 million journeys a year."

The highway has been officially inaugurated by the Development Advisor, Pedro Rivera;

the general director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández;

and the councilor of the area of ​​Citizen Participation and Good Government of Cartagena, Juan Pedro Torralba;

president of the COEC, Pedro Pablo Hérnandez;

along with members of the municipal government and directors of the La Manga Club resort.

Juan Pedro Torralba has expressed his satisfaction for the conclusion of this work, since the City of Cartagena has always demanded this improvement and are very satisfied that the autonomous community has made this investment so that people can visit the golf course .

The mayor has said that a tourism sector as important as the one that goes to La Manga Club needed a road suitable for access.

The remodeling of the RM-314 will suppose an improvement from the tourist and business point of view, since when it concludes the regeneration of the Bay of Portmán it is foreseen that the traffic intensifies in this highway.

Once this investment is completed, Juan Pedro Torralba recalled that there are still many roads in the municipality of Cartagena, of Community competence, which need remodeling and that the Municipal Government will demand that these necessary infrastructures for the municipality are carried out.
