This morning, the councilor of Government, José López (MC Cartagena), and the general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesús Giménez, have come to Perín to supervise, on the ground, the works that are allowing the settlement and consolidation of the mountain of Casillas de El Portús, centered on the western slope.
This is an action, valued at more than 160,000 euros, which has been channeled from the area of Sustainable Development directed by María José Soler (MC Cartagena), and which has a double objective: on the one hand, to influence the security of the zone.
Also, to increase the stability of the mountain, in a delicate situation, aggravated by the inaction maintained in time by previous public managers.
Objective of the project and scope of action
The project that is being executed is based on an advanced solution, already successfully tested in other areas of the country.
To contribute to this, a high-quality type of network (with anticorrosive treatment) and with a high durability capacity is chosen.
For the purpose of consolidation, a cement slurry is injected into the rock, (contributes to the sealing), on previously installed supports.
Action will be taken to eliminate the cause and damages currently suffered by the slope area, preventing them from reproducing, as well as maintenance work on the dynamic screen dissipaters.
The measures guarantee the peace of the neighbors, without prejudice to continue advancing in other solutions that will materialize in the future.
Conditioning of retaining walls in San Antón
Subsequently, the councilors have gone to San Antón, where they advance the work of conditioning the retaining walls and stairs located at the height of Recoletos and Sagrada Familia streets.
The action was fully justified by the current precarious state, produced by the existing humidity, which has caused detachments in the coating.
The concrete measures, which provide an investment of around 60,000 euros, will be focused on the walls, where a surface treatment of the façades has been designed by applying a new continuous coating permeable to water vapor.
Previously, the work of chopping, cleaning, cleaning and opening ventilation holes thereof are undertaken.
In relation to the stairs, the initiative contemplates the replacement of the tread, in addition to repairing the handrails.
It should be remembered that these works do not include the adaptation of the facades of various private buildings on Recoletos Street since they are not public property.
