This Saturday, December 23, the XVI Cartagena Ephesé Christmas Tournament was held.
A classic tournament of the base sport of the region that was held in the Ciudad Deportiva Gómez Messeguer and organized the 'Efesé' with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
The event was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, accompanied by the councilor of the Area of ​​Citizen Participation and Good Government, Juan Pedro Torralba and sports director general, Alonso Gómez.
In the tournament a total of 24 teams competed: 16 fry and 8 prebenjamines, from the community of Murcia and other autonomous communities.
All of them competed in this sporting event in the soccer modality 8. The participating teams were: Cartagena FC, EF San Miguel, Lorca CFB, AD Rincón de Seca, CD Plus Ultra, CD Mediterráneo, Elche CF, Real Murcia CF, Northwest Mula River, Elche Sporting CF, Roldán AD, EF Pacheco Tower, Kelme CF, Málaga CF, CFS El Progreso.
The games began at 9:30 in the morning in three fields that simultaneously hosted the football matches that took place throughout the competition.
The trophy in the Alevín category was won by Real Murcia after beating Kelme in the final, which finished with a tight 1-2.
As the third classified finished the Pacheco Tower to defeat the CD Plus Ultra in the penalty shootout after finishing the game 1-1.
The trophy in the Prebenjamín category was awarded by San Miguel EF when they defeated Efesé in the final in the penalty shoot-out after reaching the end of the match with a 1-1 draw.
As the third classified finished the Kelme by defeating the Northwest River Mula 3-1 in the game for the third and fourth place.
A TOURNAMENT WITH A SOLIDARITY
In addition, on the occasion of the campaign 'No child without toys', the more than 360 children who participated in this sporting event were asked to bring a solidary toy for its subsequent distribution to the children of the hospital and childhood home Casa Cuna.
