The ArtNostrum collective will auction the works of the Heryca exhibition, the Sirus trips for a charitable cause (22/12/2017)

The exhibition 'Heryca, the trips of Sirus', promoted by the collective ArtNostrum and that was part of the cultural events around the Carthaginian and Roman festivals of this 2017, will be held next Wednesday, December 27 at 8:00 p.m. the Salón del Actos del Teatro Romano, a solidary auction in which a collection of 16 ceramic pieces from the exhibition that are reproductions of the period intervened by the 16 artists of the exhibition will be on sale.

The delegate councilor of Culture, David Martínez, along with the president of ArtNostrum, Antonio Vidal, and the director of the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena, Elena Ruiz, have detailed the aspects of this event that culminates the activities that have been carried out around the exhibition, whose exhibition time was extended due to the characteristics and the interest it aroused.

The exhibition included pieces that sought to be a modern interpretation of classical art from the 2nd century BC, based on the Second Punic Wars.

"If with this exhibition a great battle of the Mediterranean was remembered, we will try to help with the auctioning of these pieces to all the people who suffer the war, especially to children, to the children who suffer from the situation in their countries" Explained the councilor, who has announced that, in addition to the auction, the choir 'Tomás Luís de Victoria' will perform.

Martínez Noguera also wanted people to be encouraged to attend to collaborate in solidarity "in a time of celebration in which it should be remembered that there are people who live other Christmas" with fear and in a very precarious situation.

The gala, which has been called 'Pax Nostrum' uniting the concept of peace to the name of the collective of artists who cede their works, aims to raise funds for the UNHCR project of solidarity with children victims of war.

The director of the Roman Theater wanted to highlight the solidarity of the artist collective ArtNostrum, which has been seen in the various activities and workshops organized next to the exhibition, which now ends "this journey with the charity gala".

The auction will start with the bid for the entire collection to which an exit price will be fixed, in case any company or large body would like to acquire it in its entirety.

If there were no bids then the works will be divided into several lots for which an exit value will also have been previously fixed.

If any of the lots has not received any offer, then the auction of the pieces will proceed individually.

The master of ceremonies of the auction will be Tomás Martínez Pagán, and the objective is that it be a relaxed and entertaining act for the attendees.

"From the first moment, when we met the 16 artists, the idea arose that, in addition to exhibiting the works, this would serve to make an act of solidarity, not only artistic" explained the representative of the collective ArtNostrum.

The translation of this intention is this event for which an agreement will be signed with UNHCR that sets in writing the donation of the funds collected, so that if a company decides to obtain the collection, or it ends up adjudicating to individuals, they can benefit from the tax advantages of donations to NGOs.
