'No matter how you are, the important thing is that you need', is the motto under which was held on Thursday, December 21, the X Cartagena Blood Marathon.
An event that every year they organize on this date before Christmas, the Cadena SER of Cartagena and the City Council, in collaboration with the Regional Hemodiadontion Center.
On this occasion the goal was clear, in addition to trying to increase the number of donations that over these years are around 300, and attract new donors, it wanted to give a touch of attention to the public in the absence of 0 negative , a type of blood that is scarce, but that is the most necessary because it is a universal donor.
A total of 250 blood donations were received from the 319 people treated who came to the Palace Hall with the intention of donating.
Among them, 32 donated for the first time.
In addition, 4 people have also wanted to be tested to be marrow donors, which will become part of the World Donor Bank.
The councilor of the city of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, wanted to thank the solidarity of the donors going to greet some of them, in the space established in the Town Hall for this Blood Marathon.
The mayor has personally handed over some of the Christmas plants to the donors.
With this detail, the Consistory wanted to recognize the Cartagena people's selfless gesture of donating blood.
The people who came to donate received a pot with a Christmas plant, courtesy of the City Council and FC Cartagena invited them to attend the next meeting that will be played at home in mid-January.
To liven up the morning, Radio Cartagena Cadena SER carried out its Hoy por Hoy program with live interviews from the hall of the Consistorial Palace.
