The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena (JOSCT) has presented the program of its second Christmas concert on Saturday, December 30, called this year 'A trip through the Alps'.
To explain all the details of this event, the Councilor for Youth, Ricardo Segado, appeared at a press conference this Thursday, December 21;
the president of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, Alvaro Valdesueiro and the director of the JOSCT, Álvaro Pintado.
In the hearing, the entire program of the concert has been explained, detailing each of the pieces that will be interpreted.
Thus, the first part of the concert will be more martial.
It will begin with the overture of the opera 'La Italiana en Argel', by the Italian composer Gioacchino Rossini.
The highlight of this part will be the Symphony No. 100, by the Austrian Joseph Haydn, known by the nickname of 'Military'.
In the words of the director of the JOSCT it will be, "very electric and alive music, that will give much energy and a lot of spark to the public".
The second part will be in the style of the traditional New Year's concert.
In it you can listen to a selection of waltzes and polkas, composed by the Strauss family.
Among them the 'Vals del Emperador', the 'Pizzicato Polka' and end with the famous 'Blue Danube'.
In this part of the concert we intend to transfer the attendees to Christmas in Vienna.
Admission is free and free, until full capacity, at the El Batel Auditorium, on Saturday, December 30 at 8:00 p.m.
In addition, on Wednesday, December 27, you can attend the open-door rehearsal, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the same auditorium and where the interested public can see how the orchestra works.
The councilman of Youth, Ricardo Segado, has seized the occasion to show the unconditional and institutional support of the City of Cartagena through the Department that he directs.
In addition, he explained that "thanks to the agreement that the Consistory has signed with the Orchestra they have made 5 concerts and have been given spaces for the realization of the trials."
An agreement, that the mayor of Youth, expects to be renewed in the next year.
YOUNG CARTAGENA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (JOSCT)
Since its presentation on July 17, 2016, JOSCT has offered 5 concerts and has participated in activities of all kinds, becoming an active part of the culture of our city.
Its staff is composed mainly of young musicians from Cartagena and throughout the Region of Murcia, as well as places such as Alicante, Albacete, Ciudad Real, Madrid, Mallorca and Almeria.
