'No matter how you are, the important thing is that you need', is the motto under which is celebrated this Thursday, December 21, the X Cartagena Blood Marathon, an event that each year organized on this date prior to the Christmas, the SER Chain of Cartagena and the City Council, in collaboration with the Regional Blood Donation Center.
On this occasion the goal is clear, in addition to trying to increase the number of donations that over the years are around 300, and attract new donors, we wanted to give a touch of attention to the public in the absence of 0 negative, a blood type that is scarce, but that is the most necessary because it is a universal donor.
At noon on the day of the Blood Marathon they had donated 111 people, of which 14 of them did it for the first time.
In addition, 3 people have also wanted to be tested to be marrow donors, who will enter the World Donor Bank.
The councilor of the city of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, wanted to thank the solidarity of the donors going to greet some of them, in the space established in the Town Hall for this Blood Marathon.
The mayor has personally handed over some of the Christmas plants to the donors.
With this detail, the Consistory wanted to recognize the Cartagena people's selfless gesture of donating blood.
For this, the Palace Hall has opened its doors throughout the day of Thursday 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The donation zone is installed, as usual, on the ground floor of the building, where the tests will be carried out to determine if blood can be donated or not, and also to become a bone marrow donor.
Those who come, in addition to the pot that gives the City and FC Cartagena invite you to attend the next meeting to be played at home in mid-January.
To liven up the morning, Radio Cartagena Cadena SER has carried out its Hoy por Hoy program with live interviews from the hall of the Consistorial Palace.
