The Equality Council held on Wednesday, December 20, a meeting to start working on the second 'Equality Plan' of the municipality, promoted by the Department of Equality.
The first 'Plan Against Gender Violence' has also been presented.
The Council was chaired by the Councilor for Equality, David Martinez, and attended by representatives of the organizations, associations and social entities that are part of the Council, for being committed to promote the principles of non-discrimination of sexes, working to promote policies equalities between men and women in the municipality.
In the meeting, held this morning, the areas to be worked on will be addressed, which will make known the state from which it starts.
Subsequently, work tables will be set up in each area.
The deadline, which has been given by the members of this Equality Council to set up these tables, is until January 31.
In them the citizenship will be encouraged to participate.
Upon leaving the Council, the mayor of Equality, David Martinez, stressed that "is a very cross-cutting issue, so we have to have a very important coordination with all areas of the City, is a job that we have to do, having very clear that it is a job that can not be delayed in time, because it is very necessary to be able to continue advancing in equality in the municipality of Cartagena ".
In this meeting, the first Plan Against Gender Violence was also presented.
It has been a first contact where a draft of this plan has been prepared, which will be enriched with subsequent contributions.
"Today has been submitted to debate so you can add suppress or change things," explained the mayor of Equality.
Once this phase is over, the project will return to the local coordination table to validate and enrich the draft presented this morning.
