erca of 40 educational centers throughout the municipality of Cartagena, received today, December 19, the agreements they have signed with the City Council.

These are subsidies with which school materials, textbooks and other types of aid can be purchased.

The amount of these subsidies is 50,000 euros.

In total, 38 schools have benefited from these grants.

Of these, 10 are institutes;

27 are colleges;

and 1 is a Special Education center.

The City Council lacks competences in education, but that does not prevent it from getting involved in helping those children and families who have the most difficulties.

For this reason, from the Department of Social Services, these grants are awarded to nursery, primary and secondary schools that have among their students, with children with limited financial resources who are struggling to cope with the cost of school supplies and books of text for the current course.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, and the Councilor for Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín.

Castejón has taken the opportunity to emphasize that education is fundamental for the development of minors.

One of your fundamental rights and, therefore, should be guaranteed to receive the best training in the best conditions.

At the ceremony held in the Hall of Ceremonies of the Consistorial Palace, a large group of teachers has come to which the mayor has addressed to thank them for the magnificent work they carry out influencing in a decisive way in the society of the future as they are training the children and young people of tomorrow.

"I know that sometimes you do not have all the resources you would need and that some parents and students have lost respect for your work, but we are many, I dare say that most of us, those who deeply appreciate your work and are fully aware of the enormous effort that you make ", has concluded the Cartagena councilor.
