The cycle of encounters with the finalist authors of the Mandarache and Hache 2018 Awards opens with the visit to Cartagena on December 19 and 20 of Maite Carranza, author of the novel 'Caminos de libertad' (Edebé, 2016) with which opts for the X Hache Award.
During these days the writer will meet with more than a thousand readers between 12 and 14 years who are part of the jury Hache category in this edition and come mostly from secondary schools in the municipality as well as Intercultural Centers dependent on the Department of Social Services.
Maite Carranza will begin her program on Tuesday 19 with a press conference with the Councilor for Youth, Ricardo Segado, at 10:00 am in the Board Room of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, UPCT, (former Marina Hospital), prior to meet 600 high school students at 10:30 am in the Auditorium.
In the afternoon, at 5:30 p.m., he will visit the Intercultural Centers (Graduate Schools c / Gisbert) and will also hold a special meeting with the young members of the Mandarache Literary Creation Workshop at 7:00 p.m. at the National Museum Library of Underwater Archeology ARQUA.
Carranza will continue on the 20th visiting the Los Molinos institute at 9:00 a.m. to finish its program of activities, meeting at 11:00 a.m. with 200 high school students in the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation meeting room (c / Mayor).
With the meetings of Maite Carranza the activities of the thirteenth edition of the Mandarache Project officially begin, which will continue with the visit to Cartagena of the rest of the finalist writers between the months of January and April, before the official votes.
It is the edition with more participation in the history of the awards, although the registration to the reading committees will still be open until the 21st, there are a thousand more students compared to the previous edition, exceeding the figure of five thousand readers that make up one of the largest literary juries in the world.
