The Department of Social Services and Social Mediation has organized with the Senior Clubs of the municipality a varied program full of activities, on the occasion of the arrival of Christmas.
The events began on December 1 with a Christmas confectionery workshop in which the elders of the Center of Estancias Diurnas of El Algar made Christmas sweets, and will conclude on January 5 with the traditional visit of the Magi.
The program that is offered is very varied and among its activities include the visits of chestnut trees to schools and residences, performances of rondallas and choirs, hiking, tour of the municipal nativity scenes, talks, intergenerational activities and cultural visits.
In addition, seniors take advantage of these dates to show their most supportive side with theatrical and musical performances in different residences, visiting day centers, donating toys and food to charities, etc.
The Federation and Senior Clubs also plan to deliver the 800 euros, collected at the Fair for Seniors and People with Disabilities, to the day centers of Los Dolores and El Algar.
The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón wanted to thank the elders for these acts of solidarity, as well as wish them Happy Holidays, at the event that was held last Friday at the multipurpose room of the Barrio de la Concepción, where the agreements were handed out. collaboration to this group.
