In order to take advantage of the three hundred days of good weather that we enjoy every year in La Manga del Menor, the Department of Sports together with the UPCT have launched the Mixed Beach Volleyball Circuit UPCT 2018, an event that counts in your organization with the figure of the player of this sport modality Javier Meca.

Between the months of December and April, beginning this Sunday, December 17, the five tests will be developed, one a month, which make up the circuit, in days from 9.00 to 17.00 hours, on the Levante beach, Entremares and Puerto Bello of La Manga.

The goal is to deseasonalize the beach sport, eminently summer until now, and give impetus to companies and tourism in La Manga throughout the year.

"The beaches are not just for the summer," said Sports Councilman of the City of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, during the presentation of the circuit on Wednesday, which has been supported by the Sports Promotion Service of the UPCT, María Lourdes García, and the beach volleyball player and event organizer, Javier Meca.

Segado also recalled 'the work that the Beach Paradise School has been doing for a year and a half, during which time it has gathered a large number of new players and the prospect of being able to carry out this sport throughout the year.'

"It is a project related to the objectives of the City of Cartagena to join sport with tourism and provide our coast with sports activities that keep it alive throughout the year," continued the mayor of Sports.

Thus, from the Department is already planning the installation of volleyball fields with fixed networks on the beaches, which allow this sport can be practiced both in winter and summer, a project in which the UPCT also takes part, that 'has among its objectives to be close to society supporting events of this kind', assured María Lourdes García.

Each of the Circuit events will have its winners, a champion couple, runner-up and third, and in the fifth and final test that will be held on April 29, adding all the points of the previous ones, will give the couple the winners of the Circuit that more points accumulate.
