The painter Lorca Manolo Belzunce opens this Thursday December 14 at 7:00 pm at the Consistorial Palace his new exhibition 'Africa Forever', by the hand of the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the delegate councilor of Culture, David Martínez
The exhibition is a compendium of the works he has been doing after his travels through the African continent and each of them reflects his passion for life through the gestures he recreates, the composition of the paintings and the color, in which the sensations that lived there are permeated.
"Walking through Africa with the help of Manolo Belzunce is a privilege for the senses." The Lorca painter, one of the greatest exponents of art in our region, never ceases to amaze us with his constant renovation and the exhibition he offers at the Palacio Consistorial de Cartagena is not an exception ", explained the mayor.
As indicated by the Councilor for Culture, "this exhibition is a great opportunity to enjoy the exciting vision that Belzunce keeps of Africa".
The exhibition can be visited until February 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., from Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and holidays only in the morning, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
On Mondays the exhibition will remain closed.
MANOLO BELZUNCE
The author of the exhibition was born in Lorca in 1944. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Murcia in 1961 and three years later began working as an apprentice in Belkrom Lithography.
In 1969 he moved to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where he began working as a publicist in Alas.
Shortly after he emigrated to Burselas and when he returned he settled in Catalonia to work as a professor of artistic drawing at the Rubí School of Arts and Crafts until 1980. In those years he co-founded the Yerba collective, which he exhibits in various European cities and with which he develops an intense activity of workshops and exhibitions.
The stage of Sant Cugat is a very fruitful period in his artistic career.
Since 1995 he lives in Los Dolores, Murcia.
