Cs will ask explanations to the City Council for the delay in the payment of invoices for works, services and supplies (08/12/2017)

- The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, blames the government crisis for these delays in payments and has asked PSOE and MC to leave "aside the partisan strategy and go to work for Cartagena and pay suppliers they need to get their business afloat "

In the last Board of Spokespersons it was decided that all proposals that had been registered after the agreed deadline were withdrawn.

Among the initiatives that could not be discussed at the last ordinary plenary session was a battery of questions from Cs to ask the City Council for explanations for the delays in the payment of bills to service, works and supplies suppliers, a debt that amounts to more than nine million euros, as recently published.

The spokesperson for Citizens (Cs) in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, has informed that his group will take these questions to the next plenary session "these delays in paying service providers, works and supplies mean that our companies can not pay payroll or that even some have to close. "

"I think that this mismanagement is undoubtedly another consequence of the poor coordination between the councils governed by MC and PSOE, two parties that are considering the possibility of destroying their government coalition and that are unfortunately contributing to our being a non-compliant City Council , well above the 30-day deadline established by the delinquency law, "said the municipal spokesman of Cs.

The spokesman of Citizens in Cartagena blamed the government crisis these payments delays and has asked PSOE and MC to leave "aside the partisan strategy and get to work for Cartagena and pay providers who need to get afloat your business "

The orange training spokesman recalled the report a few months ago by the Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA), which explains that "the arrears have to do less with the size of the administration or the population, and more with the existence of good and bad managers ".

"There are many freelancers who suffer these defaults day by day and that makes it extremely difficult for them to continue working", lamented Padín.

Finally, the leader of Citizens in Cartagena recalled that his party has registered in Congress a Law Proposal to combat late payment in which it has included a sanctioning regime, with fines ranging between 60 and 819,780 euros, and a arbitration system to settle conflicts between companies.

The sanctioning regime to enforce the deadlines established in the current legislation (30 days to undertake a payment by the public administration and 60 days in the private sector) "is a vindication of this training to face the existing impunity."
