Members of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service of the City of Cartagena (SEIS) went to the Escombreras Valley this morning, where a false alarm had been registered due to the escape of gas.
At about 7:34 a.m., the unique emergency number 112 alerted the Cartagena Fire Brigade that some Iberdrola operatives, who were working in the Escompreras Valley, had reported a large gas leak emanating from a pipeline.
Rapidly moved to the place effective municipal with a heavy urban truck bomb, a chemical vehicle and a crew of five firemen, two drivers and a corporal.
After calling the Security Center of the Valley, he reported that it is a break in some pipes of the company Química del Estroncio ranging from Ecocarburantes to its facilities and that were being repaired.
The same company confirmed these extremes and that the gas that emanated from the pipes was carbon dioxide, a non-toxic gas with no risk to health, used to render them inert.
Once verified that there was no risk, the firefighters returned to the Security Park of the City of Cartagena.
