The Town Hall Square became a celebration for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which this year had the motto "Cartagena for All".
A celebration organized by the Unit for the Elderly and Disability of the Department of Social Services, with the aim of visualizing, mobilizing and highlighting key aspects related to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and their full inclusion in society.
This fun-festive day in which citizens who came could enjoy workshops, dance exhibitions, theater, games and sports, organized by participating entities coordinated by the Department of Social Services.
The group "Stolen" was commissioned to put the soundtrack.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, read the manifesto for this day, which this year was called "Manifest of Desires", accompanied on the stage by the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín, of the councilors of the Municipal Corporation: Antonio Calderón, Manuel Padín and Pilar Marcos and members of different associations.
The mayor said the City Council's effort "to provide people with different abilities with the necessary means so that they have all the opportunities they deserve, that is, the same as any other person."
To this end, he recalled that the "Cartagena for all" Disability Plan and the Accessibility Ordinance project have been drawn up.
A plan that "must be reflected in a reality that makes Cartagena a fully accessible municipality for all."
The day ended with a popular michironada that put an end to this commemorative day.
