The Local Police, on behalf of the Department of Public Safety, has given recognition in gratitude for the civic attitude of Oscar Alberto Galbo, 20, and MBS, 21, for his performance on Thursday, November 30 that saved the life of an individual who had suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and had fallen into the sea
Galbo was at the Coyote bar drinking something with a friend, when they were warned from the outside that someone was asking for help at the dock.
As they came running they saw a man holding another one about to fall into the water that was unconscious.
Without thinking he left the valuables on the dock and jumped into the water to help get it out.
Immediately people who were in nearby bars came to help and among all managed to upload it to the dock.
When he left it on the ground and verified that the individual was in cardiorespiratory arrest, between MBS, who was among the people who had taken him out of the water, and Oscar Alberto Galbo, they performed resuscitation maneuvers until emergency services arrived and Local Police agents.
The subject was taken by ambulance to the Santa Lucia hospital where he recovered from the hypothermia he suffered and the problems of breathing.
"I did not think, really, because I did not know how long I had not breathed and given that resuscitation does not work after a certain time, I simply acted," said Galbo about his way of reacting in a very fast situation but that he confesses , it became eternal.
The reconnaissance has received it from the hands of the deputy chief inspector of the Local Police of Cartagena, Eusebio Serna, who has indicated that the medical services said that the rapid action of these citizens saved the life of the man who was rescued from the water.
"It is an act of civility and solidarity of young people who could not be overlooked" so they have been given a recognition materialized on a plaque and a letter from the Councilor for Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar thanking them for their decisive action.
