Some 250 people from the ecological groups CreeCT and Association of Naturalists of the Southeast (ANSE), along with scout groups, neighbors of the Santa Lucia neighborhood and technicians of the City of Cartagena, will participate on Sunday December 3 in a day of reforestation of the mountain of Castle of the Moors.
The delegated councilor of Finance, Isabel García, will be present at this day that will start at 10:00 am and in which a total of approximately 1,000 native varieties will be planted, such as the sabina mora or cypress of Cartagena, garrofero , oak, pine, mastic, wild olive, cornicabra, bayon and lavender, among others.
These trees and bushes are put by the associations that participate in the day with the collaboration of the Repsol Foundation.
Likewise, the installation of informative posters of the replanted species is included.
As a previous step, the City of Cartagena, through the Department of Sustainable Development, has conditioned the area with the removal of dirt from the place, which has also been provided with topsoil.
After the reforestation, it will correspond to the Consistory the irrigation of the plants during the first 15 days and then periodically approximately twice a month on average, according to the season of the year.
