Performances in Santa Ana, Los Dolores, Casco Histórico and Los Camachos
Yesterday, the councilor of the area of Sustainable Development and Transparency, María José Soler (MC Cartagena);
the mayor of the Government, José López (MC Cartagena), and the general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesús Giménez, visited several works to improve the infrastructure of the municipality that are currently being executed
Pedestrian path and bike path in Santa Ana
They checked, on the ground, the progress in the works for the construction of a pedestrian or steel path and a bike path on both sides of the road between the Urbanization of the Santa Ana Industrial Park and the junction with the Siphon road.
It is an action valued at more than 60,000 euros, fully justified by the state of the site, populated very significantly by large tree species, which leaves a very limited space between the existing shoulder and the limit of the adjacent properties .
Likewise, in order to facilitate the transit of users, the traffic light regulation has been extended near the Madrid Service Station.
In addition, very close to the beginning of the path, a pedestrian crossing regulated with a traffic light has been incorporated.
Also, to ensure the safety of users at the intersection with the Siphon road, the installation of a pedestrian / cyclist crossing is planned, through a bright and intelligent pedestrian crossing.
Semaphoric regulation of intersection in San Juan Bosco street
The aediles, later, moved to Los Dolores, where, in brief dates, work will begin on the regulation by traffic lights of the intersection of San Juan Bosco Street and José García López Street.
This project is the result of consensus, since the proposals adopted were collected by the technicians, listening to the needs expressed by the neighbors.
The chosen solution has been based on some prioritization parameters (road safety, pedestrian safety and number of users).
Thus, the works will respond to the implementation of new traffic light installations.
In this sense, the enabling of a pedestrian crossing regulated by traffic lights is advised by the bad visibility of the stop that exists at the intersection of San Juan Bosco Street and José García Sánchez Street.
It is worth remembering that José García Sánchez street is a natural exit road from Los Dolores neighborhood to Cartagena, so the traffic intensity in the street is remarkable.
The action is complemented with the adaptation of crossing pedestrian traffic lights, since a supermarket is located in the area.
In addition, there is a bus stop, so the pedestrian mobility at the crossings improves significantly from a safety point of view.
The performance will also include the placement of a pre-notification traffic light in the south direction from the intersection.
To carry out the work, other actions will be carried out beforehand, such as the execution of approximately 25 meters of sidewalk to give continuity to the existing one in José García Sánchez street until the pedestrian crossing that takes place in San Juan Bosco street.
Finally, the existing sidewalk will be recessed in the latter way.
The traffic light regulation in this intersection supposes an investment of more than 23,000 euros.
Improvements in the steel of Tahona Street and San Esteban
Subsequently, Soler and López moved to the central Tahona Street to supervise the repairs to the steelworks that are carried out.
The project, valued at 40,094.29 euros, also includes acting on the sidewalk of San Esteban Street, both located in the urban area of the municipality.
With these works, there is an improvement in security, in addition to allowing decent access to existing homes.
Location of the roads
It should be noted that the Tahona Street houses, in its center, mobile planters and a fixed planter in poor conditions.
To solve it, its restoration has been foreseen through the application of a monolayer.
On the other hand, Calle San Esteban, which retains a distribution similar to the previous one with elements of urbanization in the center and mobile planters, has a railing that will be removed to restore it and replace it in order to maintain its original appearance.
Visit to Los Camachos
In the afternoon, the councilors of the MC Cartagena municipal group traveled to Los Camachos to collect the demands of the neighbors and inform them of the next actions that will take place in this area of the municipality.
