The Department of Social Services and Social Mediation of the City of Cartagena, in coordination with the different social entities of the municipality working in the care of homeless and bystanders, has launched the special cold wave device in the city, intensifying the activity that is being provided the rest of the year.
In anticipation of low temperatures and adverse weather conditions, the necessary measures will be adopted to enable the accommodation and shelter of those people who are in the street and accept their care.
The entities Cruz Roja, Cáritas, and Hospitality Santa Teresa began weeks ago their schedule of night outings giving coverage every day and providing warm clothes, blankets, hot coffee, etc.
Likewise, technicians of the Service for Attention to the Homeless and Local Police agents will tour the city to detect situations and inform the interested parties of the existing resources and, if necessary, transfer them to a shelter.
Other entities such as La Huertecica or ACCEM will attend as a priority to the people who are in these circumstances assisting them in their day centers, where they provide shower, wardrobe, coffee and nursing home services, among others.
Remember the importance of citizen collaboration, so that, in case there is knowledge of a risk situation, you have to contact Local Police or Municipal Social Services.
