- Manuel Padín: "There are things that we can do while assessing the construction of a new center, such as the extension of the vestibule area or the placement of pedestrian crossings in the entrances"
Cartagena, Tuesday November 28-.
The regional deputy of Citizens in the Assembly, Juan José Molina, and the spokesman of the Municipal Group in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, visited the Barrio Peral office today following the continuous complaints of the residents of the area to expand the facilities.
There they have been able to analyze the problems of the office with the coordinator of the center, Dr. José Vicente Gavara, and the coordinator of Nursing, Francisco Francoso.
The lack of space in the waiting rooms of one of the wings of the first floor and the demand for more consultations to avoid delays were several of the claims that the Association of Neighbors and the Association of Women Amanecer transferred to the local spokesperson of Cs in a recent meeting.
The neighbors of Barrio Peral have long denounced a strong welfare pressure in the center and claiming solutions to the Community.
After the meeting, the regional deputy of Cs, Juan José Molina, said that "the problem here is not human resources, on the contrary, the quality of health care is very good, what there is a problem of physical space It is a center that was built 25 years ago, thinking about 10,000 people, and now it handles about 25,000 books, which has left it small. "
Molina explained that "it seems that expanding it, correcting this problem in the same building where it is now located is very complicated since the structure is not ready, therefore the only viable solution right now is to ask for a health center to be built new".
The orange deputy has promised to study this possibility with his Parliamentary Group and obtain the necessary funding in the next budgets to tender the drafting of the project.
For his part, the spokesman of the orange training, Manuel Padín, thanked the attention received by all the professionals of the center, "they have explained to us that an engineer from the Autonomous Community assured that the plans to further expand the center were unfeasible for a problem with the foundation, and it is clear that the solution is a new center, the needs of this neighborhood are immense, a large part of Cartagena is attached to this center, the surroundings have become with the passage of time in a large city, which covers a large part of Juan Fernández, Las Cuatrocientas, the expansion areas towards Las Tejeras, that is, thousands of citizens who are well cared for but not in the necessary infrastructure. "
And we believe that it is possible, "we must study it, but the surplus value of the land where it is located could compensate the transfer", concluded Manuel Padín.
While Citizens is exploring the possibility of requesting a project to build a new center, the orange party has also collected other demands that the current one has in the short term, "a new center will not be a matter of a couple of days, and while, these professionals have to continue working, "says Manuel Padin who has reported that" we have moved the need to place pedestrian crossings to access the center, a few months ago there was a traffic accident at the door and that is something that should be done "
In addition, "there is an extension, which has to do with the lobby versus Administration, which we believe is viable, there is also a shortage of space and at specific moments can not accommodate all users having some to wait outside or in an annex area for patients in rehabilitation, "the Citizen spokesman has warned.
Regarding the need for personnel, the coordinators of the center have reported that they approach the maximum ratio to attend to patients, and it would be advisable to increase the number of doctors, nurses and administrative staff.
