The city of Cartagena has a new athletic club: the CA Cuatro Santos, which already has approximately thirty members not only from the municipality but also from other localities and countries and who made his first official participation as a team in the 16th edition of the Cross of the Artillery, held last November 19.
Today was the turn of the official presentation, which was run by the Councilor for Sports of the City of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, the president of the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, Juan Manuel Molina, and the president of the Athletics Club Cuatro Santos Cartagena, Diego Martínez.
This new club, which is federated in the modalities and federations of athletics, mountain and triathlon is open to everyone, according to its leader, and is currently in the phase of attracting new members and partners as well as sponsors.

PROMOTING THE CITY AND ITS FOUR SAINTS
For his part, Diego Martinez explained that, as he did in 2005 after creating the CA Mandarache, his intention in founding this new team is to "take the name" of the city and "encourage the sport" and try to start in the practice of athletics and popular races to those who start.
The name, he specified, comes from the expression 'Four Saints', installed in Cartagena and united to his citizenship.
"In the same way that the expression 'Four Saints' and the individual saints are in our city, in our schools, in our churches, our streets, our neighborhoods, our social headquarters, we want to bring them to athletics, we want to be bearers, emissaries or ambassadors of a thing so rooted in Cartagena as are our Four Saints, "said the president of the club, which he has defined as" very Cartagena, away from political intentions ", but also as an entity that wants to" carry cartagenerismo "and" do Region "at the same time.
