A total of 23 booths this year will make up the handicraft market and jewelry that, on the occasion of Christmas, will be installed around the Plaza de San Francisco de Cartagena.
The Department of Finance and Interior of the City of Cartagena has published the award of the posts respecting the seniority of the exercise of the activity in its previous location of the Alameda de San Antón.
The change of location is one of the main novelties of this year and has been motivated by the request of the craftsmen themselves to the departments of Celebrations and Markets to improve their sales and bring them closer to the Christmas atmosphere of the city.
Of the 23 awardees, 19 were already in the previous location, incorporating four new ones according to the following criteria:
Order of presentation of applications (within the established period).
Photographic dossier, according to the typology of this market.
Presentation of a document accrediting to be registered in the Professional Crafts Registry and professional experience in this guild.
The market will be open to the public from December 6, 2017 to January 6, 2018, both inclusive, at a time of: 10.00 h.
at 14.00 h.
(mornings) and from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
(afternoon / night), extending exceptionally until 24:00 h.
on January 5 (before the day of Kings).
Each one of the booths will have an area of ​​8 square meters and the artisans commit themselves to keep the area where the assigned station is located and border areas at the end of each business day clean.
