On the occasion of the wave of pateras arriving at our coasts, the municipal group highlights the need to have a municipal protocol for emergency situations.
CTSSP expresses its recognition of the work carried out by the collaborating entities and institutions in the management of the humanitarian crisis that took place on 17, 18, 19 and 20 November 2017 in Cartagena, recognition that ranges from NGOs, to bodies and security forces to municipal officials, mainly to workers of the Immigrant Service of the Department of Social Services.
Secondly, the municipal group warns of the need to have a Municipal Emergency Plan, with its due inclusion in the municipal budgets 2018. For the municipal group, although the work done with the arrival of immigrants was truly exceptional, it does not it prevents the Consistory from having an action protocol ready to be activated in any exceptional situation, be it due to a humanitarian crisis, a natural disaster or any other kind.
Finally, and on the occasion of the transfer of most of the immigrants to the future jail in Malaga, from the training akin to Podemos have reiterated their emphatic refusal to imprison these people as if they were criminals, either in CIE or in ordinary penitentiary establishments, since they have not committed any criminal offense.
The municipal group of PODEMOS reminds us that basic human rights are being violated and that the Immigration Law itself is being violated, which was just designed not to transfer these people to centers that have a penitentiary character.
