The legacy of the 'Enlightenment in Cartagena' can be known in the university extension course organized by the Uned-Cartagena associated center, the City of Cartagena and the Association for the Defense of Heritage, ADEPA.
During three days, from December 1 to 3, this training will be taught, open to students of the Distance University and the general public.
On the afternoon of Friday, December 1, the course begins in the Assembly Hall of the Center, University UNED - Cartagena.
The following days, the conferences will be offered in the Assembly Hall of the National Museum of Underwater Archeology (ARQUA).
The lectures of the course will be taught by expert professors in Modern and Contemporary History, from the School of Architecture and Building, the director of the ARQUA Museum, Iván Negueruela and the Coordinator of Historical and Archaeological Heritage, Mª Carmen Berrocal, among other speakers.
All lecturers will bring the 'Enlightenment in Cartagena', when one of the biggest concerns surrounding the city, was the need to clean up the port and erect solid walls to turn it into a military bastion and naval base.
