The electronic sports team of the Polytechnic of Cartagena, the UPCT e-Sport, celebrates one year these days with a renewed squad of players and premiere equipment for the broadcast of games to the increasingly large audience of this new show.
The UPCT is the only Spanish university that has a gaming room in its facilities.
Specifically, in the School of Telecommunications, where they meet almost every day to play the 20 members of the team, triple that a year ago and coming from all the Polytechnic centers.
They have six powerful competition computers, television and whiteboard to analyze games and draw strategies, and a team for 'streaming' with double screen, microphone and a chroma for the retransmission of the games in a space of 100 square meters.
"The player himself interacts with the public, answering their questions and commenting on the development of the battle," explains Ignacio Cifuentes, the team's coordinator.
Broadcasts are made on the Twitch platform, followed by millions of users around the world.
"We want to get to know and create community beyond the University," adds the head of the only e-sports club in Cartagena.
The team qualified last season for the final of the southern division of the League of Legends university championship and marches fourth in the B group of the first division of the national league of the same game.
They also participate in Hearthstone tournaments.
