Cartagena has crossed borders this weekend in Murcia Gastronómica thanks to its recipes of traditional cuisine.
The emblematic "galileas balls" of Pozo Estrecho surprised on Saturday those who approached the stand 'Cartagena, city of treasures', where a tasting of this delicious dish was offered, that every January 16, feast of San Fulgencio, prepare the amas from the village house.
For two hours, two expert cooks from Pozo Estrecho served a total of 220 "galileas balls", which attracted hundreds of people to the Cartagena exhibitor, among whom were the Mayoress of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and councilors David Martínez Noguera and Juan Pedro Torralba, who were accompanied by the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, and the counselor of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo.
Ana Belén Castejón stressed that "this year we wanted to make known throughout the Region some of our most important gastronomic festivals, so we invited the representatives of the parties.
We want our gastronomy to demolish walls ".
After naming the octopus of San Antón, the variety of potatoes from La Puebla, the contest of migas ruleras from La Aljorra, the Asian coffee from El Albujón and the cauldron from Cabo de Palos, the tasting started and the Cartagena space was filled until the flag, to the point that the Galilean Pozo Estrecho balls sold out quickly.
Eight restaurants and tasting of artisan products
A total of eight restaurants and eight producers form the Cartagena delegation in Calle de las Tapas de Murcia Gatronómica, with which the success of the stand is guaranteed.
And proof of this is that all visitors are amazed with the tapas served these days by Gastrobar Daniel, José María-Los Churrascos, Malvasía, Mar de Cañas, Los Habaneros, Sacromonte, Petit Comité and Sushi Wu.
While on Saturday, the assistants to Murcia Gastronómica gathered to try the anchovies of Ricardo Fuentes, on Sunday the delicious cakes of the biscuit shop Le Chatón sold out in just three hours.
