The municipal group wants to know how the Social Services will manage the 133,825 euros granted by the Autonomous Community to alleviate the effects of Energy Poverty in the municipality.
On November 8, a decree approved by the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia was published in the BORM to grant direct aid to the town councils, for "supposedly" to take measures against Energy Poverty.
It is a contribution of one million euros of which 133,825 are destined to the municipality of Cartagena.
"From CTSSP we want the municipal government to explain to the public how it will manage such aid, since they are only intended for payment of outstanding debts, to process the connection of the three supplies (electricity, water and butane) , and for payment of the butane bottle, from January 1, 2017, to March 31, 2018. "
The purple formation wants that the Government makes very clear which are the criteria that are going to use in the distribution of those helps, so that it is not left unattended any family or people in risk of poverty or in social exclusion.
CTSSP will also remind the City Council of its commitment to draw up an "Energy Poverty Plan", where an agreement was to be signed with energy supply companies so that they could communicate to the Department of Social Services the users who had their receipt "pending cut ", and that in this way the Department could deal with the payment of pending receipts and not to cut the supply.
Likewise, it will bring to the November plenary the start-up from Social Services of a "campaign to combat energy poverty" so that no home in Cartagena will be cold this winter.
