The cycle of promotional concerts of the XXI Contest 'Between Strings and Metals' begins with its first concert, which will take place on November 20, at 6:00 p.m., in the Auditorium of the Professional Music Conservatory of Lorca.
They will perform as soloists, accompanied by the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra, four of the winners of the last edition of the 'Between Strings and Metals' Contest: Víctor Amaya Avellaneda, (I piano award), Félix Ismael Gallardo Contreras (I won wind prize metal), María Dolores Valverde Muñoz (I win wood wind modality), María del Carmen Portela Tapia (I award singing modality).
The concert will open with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, directed by Andrés Pérez Bernabé, who will play the work Passacaglia in Sol m by GF Händel, continuing with the same orchestra accompanied by the soloists awarded in the 20th edition of 'Entre Cuerdas y Metales' '
The soloist pianist Víctor Amaya Avellaneda will play with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, the 1st movement of the Concerto No. 11 in Re M, Hob XVIII by Joseph Haydn.
Víctor Amaya is studying the 5th year of Piano Professional Education at the Conservatory of Cartagena.
He has attended several Masterclasses receiving classes from teachers such as Leonel Morales, Andreas Fröelich, Giuliano Mazzoccante and Yuri Didenko.
He has played in halls and auditoriums in Granada and Madrid, and participated in events such as the Night of the Museums of Cartagena.
She was a finalist in the 1st María Herrero Granada International Piano Competition 2011 and in the Ruperto Chapí de Villena National Contest 2017;
obtaining the first prize in the Concurso de Música Comarca de los Vélez 2012 and the third prize in the 1st Ciudad de Leganés International Contest this year.
The next soloist to perform will be Felix Ismael Gallardo Contreras, who with the tuba will perform the Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra in F minor.
Felix Ismael finishes in 2017 the professional music education in tuba specialty obtaining honors, at the Conservatory of Music of Lorca.
He has completed advanced courses with Vicente López Velasco (Professor of the Superior Conservatory of Murcia), Alejandro Marco Moncho (Professor of the Superior Conservatory of Granada), Stefan Ambrosius (Current tuba of German Brass), Pedro Pastor (Current trombone of Granada Brass Quintet) , David Llácer (Tuba soloist of the Orchestra of Valencia), Luis Leandro Hita (Tuba founder of Granada Brass Quintet), Sergio Finca (Current tuba of Spanish Brass Luur Metal), Gregorio Sánchez (bass trombone of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Málaga) and Ramiro Tejero (Tuba soloist of the Palau de la Música orchestra).
He has been under the baton of Michael Thomas, Ginés Martínez Vera, José Vélez, Pablo González, Germán Clavijo, María del Mar Muñoz Varo, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, Juanjo Navarro, Oscar Navarro, Saül Gómez, Juan Manuel Busto and Maurizio Benini. Tuba soloist of the Orquesta Joven de Almería (OJAL) since November 2012.
He is a soloist in the Mahler (2015) and Tchaikovsky (2016) meetings, organized by the Young Provincial Orchestra of Málaga (JOPMA).

Currently collaborates with the Orquesta Ciudad de Almería (OCAL).
He has collaborated with the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra (ROSS) as part of the internal band.

The concert will continue in the second part with the flute player María Dolores Valverde Muñoz, who will play with the Orchestra the Concerto for Flute in Sol M by GB Pergolesi.
Mª Dolores, concludes in 2017 her transverse flute studies at the Conservatory of Music of Caravaca with high qualifications, being currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Granada.
He has taken courses with different professors, such as Antonio Nuez, Fernando Gómez, Abel Aldás, Miguel Ángel Angulo, Juanjo Hernández, Amparo Trigueros, Jaime Salas, Juana Guillén, and David López.
He is a member of the Cehegín Musical Society since 2012.
The concert in Lorca will be closed with the soprano María del Carmen Portela Tapia, who will perform works by Giovanni Battista Bononcini, Mozart and Edvard Grieg.
María del Carmen begins her flute studies at the Elementary Conservatory of Cuevas del Almanzora.
After finishing the Elementary Degree, the Professional Degree begins in 2011 at the Conservatory of Lorca.
Three years later, he takes the entrance exam to enter the Professional Degree of singing.
In the 2016-2017 academic year, in addition to finishing Baccalaureate, she has finished her flute studies and has finished 3rd EPM in singing.
In addition, he has performed both in the center and outside, and has participated in flute courses such as 'Trevor Wye International Flute Summer Course' in Tonbridge, England in 2013, or 'International Flute Master Class In Gyor', in Gyor, Hungary, where she receives classes from Gergely Ittzés in 2015;
He has also participated in singing courses such as 'Vocal technique and interpretation workshop' in Daroca, Zaragoza, receiving classes from Ana Luisa Chova and Juan de Udaeta, in 2017.
ALSO IN CARAVACA AND CARTAGENA
This cycle of promotional concerts will continue in the towns of Caravaca and Cartagena, on days 22 and 23 respectively.
On November 22, the concert will take place in a very special setting, such as the Church of St. Joseph of Carmelite Mothers in Caravaca de la Cruz.
And on the 23rd there will be two concerts in the Auditorium of the Music Conservatory of Cartagena, at 1:00 p.m., with the flamenco winners who will be accompanied by the flamenco teachers of the Conservatory of Cartagena, and at 7:00 p.m. several of the winners of the last edition, again, with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
Admission to all concerts is free and free, until full capacity is reached.
