Jesus Zaplana returns to Cartagena to present, within the cycle "Read, Think, Imagine" that develops the Department of Culture, his novel "Own business."
The event will take place on Thursday, November 16, at 8:00 p.m. at the Josefina Soria library of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, where the author will be accompanied by the writer Ana Ballabriga.
"Own business" tells the story of Ugarte, a character who returns to Cartagena after five years of exile.
Once again in the port city, he will have to face several characters in his biography who, after decades hidden in shadows, will reappear to blow his balance.
Among these are his sister Palmira, Beppo Tirivolo, alias Il Dottore, a dangerous prisoner linked to the Calabrian Ndrangueta and, especially, a murky subject who could become his next victim: José Antonio Ramírez de Lerma, the prosecutor who to change the destiny of Ugarte forever.
Accustomed to moving on the wire, the hit man must previously resolve several internal dilemmas.
A whole plot with the force of a narration in the first person and a protagonist at times tormented and always cynical and charismatic.
"Own matters" follows, in the opinion of experts, the wake of the great classic works in the black genre and guarantees during its reading all kinds of adventures, humor and strong emotions.
