After the statements of the workers of the SUAP appeared today in the newspaper of the Truth, asking that the service of emergencies of Primary Attention be moved to a center outside the Barriada Virgen de la Caridad, when it has not yet been relocated to the center for this purpose in the "Parchís" after three years of waiting, CTSSP wants to convey that we understand the concern of these workers before the recent violent events that took place in the neighborhood, but that these constitute a punctual event, and that that have occurred in Virgen de la Caridad have also occurred and can occur in other places in the municipality.
A greater presence of the security forces of the State and municipal police would be some of the measures to be taken to prevent new criminal acts in this neighborhood, and especially the implementation of a Comprehensive Social Intervention Plan that is carried out in a coordinated manner between the Autonomous Community and the City of Cartagena.
Said Plan should reflect the actions directed not only to social intervention with the residents of the neighborhood, but also actions related to urban planning and infrastructures, highlighting the rehabilitation and management of social housing, allocating sufficient regional and municipal budgets, something that CTSSP will demand not only the city council but also the regional government.
"From CTSSP we believe that the intervention of the administrations in the abandoned neighborhoods of Cartagena at a social, urban and infrastructure level is an urgent need that can not be delayed any longer, as the list of degraded districts and councils is getting too long, and in they inhabit thousands of people who have been abandoned for decades, "said Pilar Marcos.
