The poetic festival Deslinde has consolidated in just two editions as an unmissable event for lovers of poetry in our country.
The Department of Culture has made a balance of the recently completed second edition that can not be more satisfactory.
The councilman of Culture, David Martinez Noguera, has assured that "most of the events programmed in Deslinde have had an influx of mass public, which shows that there is a public space of interest to program poetic activity, which is also the only event of this kind throughout the Region. "
This year, the festival -which has had almost a hundred participants in its program- has had an international dimension, as it has had the renowned Romanian poet Ana Blandiana, the Cuban poet and rapist Alexis Díaz Pimienta, or the Syrian poet Yaafar Al Aluni
This has also helped to make of Deslinde an intercultural and diversity festival, in whose program different cultures have found their space.
The acts have also been highlighted with well-known Spanish poets such as Luis García Montero and Raquel Lanseros, who have many faithful followers of their creations.
The regional side has been nourished, with poets of very different generations, from the greatest of all, the honoree Francisco Sánchez Bautista, to the youngest, with a representation of the new generations of poets around the twenties, showing with it a deliberate intergenerational profile.
It has also been a festival that has preserved gender equality in its program, with a balance between men and women (no gender has been represented below 40%), another hallmark of the presumed Deslinde.
In addition, Deslinde has wanted to explore different areas of social life, taking activities to popular neighborhoods, such as José María Lapuerta, since the act of Luis García Montero was very exciting and participative in the Botica del Libro;
or to educational centers with three acts about Miguel Hernández held in different institutes of the municipality, and offering directly to students and teachers the opportunity to organize events in the program of the festival, such as the homage to the bi-millennium of the poet Ovidio from the IES Jiménez de la Espada.
It is also necessary to register in this sense the act with inmates of the prison of Campos del Río.
Music and other creative languages -specially film and audiovisual- with which poetry has interacted have also been very present in different concerts and interventions, with ample audience follow-up.
On the other hand, from the spatial point of view, the festival has occupied all kinds of scenarios for its proposals, which is also part of the Deslinde brand: from classic ruins to bars, from museums to squares, from libraries to bookstores, passing through educational centers, official halls or cultural heritage buildings.
Finally, the Antonio Oliver Belmás International Poetry Prize, which convenes the Popular University of Cartagena, around which Deslinde was born, has found special treatment.
In this edition, the UP has published an anthology of the thirty years already completed of this prestigious award, with a sample of all the winners, which was presented both in Madrid and in Cartagena, and which was attended by many of the poets who have obtained this award, assuming the failure of this year's edition the closing of a Deslinde that has grown to become greater - a solid poetic festival of the highest level - in just two years.
