The Santander Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility (2017 call) has awarded the doctoral thesis of UPCT Eduardo Gómez Melero entitled 'The influence of corporate social responsibility practices on organizational performance and the mediating role of innovation', led by Carmelo Reverte and Juan Gabriel Cegarra, the second prize for the best doctoral thesis on CSR and Sustainability with an economic endowment of 1,000 euros.
The award ceremony will be next December in the Rector of the University of Malaga.
This Chair is sponsored by Banco Santander, through the Santander Universities Global Division.
For the evaluation of the theses defended on this subject in any of the Spanish Universities (both public and private), a jury has been constituted by members representing the academic and business world, with the aim of assessing not only the scientific and methodological rigor of the works but also to what extent they make a useful contribution for companies, organizations and for society.
It should be noted that one of the works derived from the thesis won the Award for one of the best communications presented at the XVIII Congress of the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration held in 2015. Likewise, as evidence of the quality of the thesis, it mention two articles derived from it published in journals with a high impact index such as the Journal of Cleaner Production and the European Management Journal.
The objective of the Santander-CSR Chair is to develop training, research and results transfer activities on aspects related to the three areas of Social Responsibility, that is, economic, social and environmental.
This award was created with the aim of consolidating itself as a reference prize for research into Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability.
