The date of one of the most important dates of the 'running calendar' in Cartagena is approaching: the XVI Artillery Cross, which will be held on Sunday, November 19.
The four thousand runners registered will be able to pick up their numbers, from Tuesday 13 to Friday 17 November, at the Corte Inglés sports center, while on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 (before the race) they will also be available in the building of the Military Government.
The popular race, open to both civilian and military personnel, is organized by the Cross Artillery Sports Association in collaboration with the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73 and the Sports Department of the City of Cartagena.
At the presentation of the same have come representatives of the Cross Artillery Sports Association, and has also had the presence with the presence of the Director General of Sports, Alonso Gómez and Sports Councilor of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado.
As a novelty this edition, the runners will know their classification through a QR code.
Each participant will be given with his bib number this code printed on it.
The broker will only have to download the application that identifies the QRs and take a picture with the mobile of said code.
At the moment the mobile will inform about the position occupied in the race.
You can also know the classification through the website, but in no way in paper lists, since this year they disappear from the test.
The mayor of Sports, Ricardo Segado, has used the occasion of the presentation of the XVI edition of the Artillery Cross to congratulate the organizers "proof of this is that it has gone year after year improving, gaining in participation, gaining in quality, as We have been able to check with the QR code on the number, the organization does not get tired of continuing to improve. "
The categories in this edition Artillery Cross have not changed with respect to the past editions.
As usual it is divided into different tests according to the distance to be covered, the age and the categories of the participants, such as: the Carrera del Faro, which has a route of 14 kilometers;
the Urban Cross, of 6 kilometers;
the Canicross, of 5 kilometers;
the Mile, for young people between 10 and 14 years old;
and the Quarter Mile, for children under 9 years of age.
In the presentation it has also been announced that all the runners will receive the official Artillery Cross shirt, which this year will be fluorescent for the first time.
The organizers have thought it would be appropriate, so that lovers of this sport can wear the shirt while they run at night.
One hundred and eight trophies will wait for the winners of the tests to receive them in the act that will be done at the end of the race, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in front of the Consistorial Palace.
